According to PYMNTS, AI coding tool company Cursor is developing a general-purpose AI agent, codenamed Sand. The product's features include replying to emails and text messages, organizing spreadsheets, and handling engineering tasks, positioned as an office assistant for non-developers. SpaceX plans to acquire Cursor in an all-stock transaction valued at $60 billion, with the deal expected to be completed in the third quarter. Cursor has not yet decided whether to launch the agent, and the product roadmap is influenced by the acquisition process.
