The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran stated on Monday that two oil tankers exploded and lost navigational capability while sailing in the "unsafe" waters south of the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that the vessels used this route under encouragement from the US military.
According to foreign media, the incident could not be immediately verified; the statement did not disclose the names of the ships, their flags, the crew situation, or any details about casualties.
The Revolutionary Guard warned that as long as US "aggressive" actions in the region continue, the waterway will remain unsafe. They declared, "This route will no longer be safe for the transport of petrochemical products, and not even a drop of oil or natural gas can pass through safely," while demanding that US forces prepare for "punitive actions."
