Glonghui, July 20th – According to CNMO Technology, recently, blogger @定焦数码 commented on the topic of “the silent drop in memory prices,” stating that although memory prices will certainly not return to the 2024 or 2025 levels, a decrease of about 50–70% is expected in the near future. It is understood that in July 2026, the global price of memory sticks surged by more than 300% compared to the same period last year. The price of 16G DDR5 memory rose from 450 yuan to 1,800 yuan, an increase of 300%; 32G DDR5 memory rose from 900 yuan to 3,800 yuan, an increase of 322%. By mid-July 2026, memory prices at the Huaqiangbei market in Shenzhen saw a slight easing, with 16G DDR4 retreating from a peak of 700 yuan at the beginning of the year to 450 yuan, and DDR5 dropping from 1,500 yuan to just above 1,000 yuan. However, the recent slight dip in memory prices does not mean the current round of price increases is over. So far this year, the stock prices of leading companies such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology have all risen sharply, with their market capitalizations surpassing the one trillion US dollar mark. Experts further pointed out that this round is not simply a cyclical price hike, but a long-term structural change triggered by AI, and the upward cycle may last until 2028.
