Odaily reported that with 100 days to go until the 2026 midterm elections, the cryptocurrency advocacy organization Stand With Crypto posted on X on July 26, stating that nearly 70% of surveyed crypto holders believe a candidate's stance on cryptocurrency will influence their vote, and nearly 80% said they are almost certain to cast their vote.
Stand With Crypto noted that 73% of surveyed crypto holders are closely monitoring which crypto policies members of Congress support, and 59% do not consistently support any one political party. The organization stated that crypto supporters have contacted Congress regarding related legislation more than 1 million times.
The market's attention is focused on the CLARITY Act, namely the 2025 Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. This bill aims to clarify the division of responsibilities between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regarding digital asset regulation, and will affect whether certain digital assets are classified as securities or commodities under federal regulation.
Supporters of the bill believe the window to advance legislation before the election-year agenda tightens is limited; opponents argue that any new framework should maintain protections against fraud, market manipulation, and investor losses. Relevant discussions cover exchange access, investment products, taxation, and the role of federal regulatory agencies in digital finance.
