AI Industry Surges in Scale: Anthropic Revenue Surpasses Starbucks and McDonald's

Glonghui, July 28｜Artificial intelligence-related revenue is growing rapidly, and its volume has started to surpass many of the world's top consumer brands. When investors intuitively see the monetization capacity of AI investments, expectations for multi-trillion-dollar AI infrastructure spending become easier to understand. According to data from the AI investment research platform Funda, the combined annualized revenue of OpenAI and Anthropic is expected to reach $120 billion. Among them, Anthropic contributes about 60% of the share thanks to its advantage with enterprise clients (OpenAI is working hard to narrow this gap). At this level of revenue, both companies could make it onto the Fortune US 500 top 100 revenue list. Anthropic's estimated annualized revenue is about $71 billion, exceeding the combined revenue of Starbucks ($37.2 billion) and McDonald's ($26.9 billion); this figure is nearly equal to the sum of Starbucks, McDonald's, and the three companies Yum! Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell and KFC.
