Crypto ETFs See Mixed Flows: Bitcoin Outflows While Ethereum Inflows Surge

DailyCoinDailyCoin2026/08/03 13:42

Last week, US crypto spot ETFs experienced a notable divergence in flows, with Bitcoin ETFs witnessing significant outflows while Ethereum ETFs observed substantial inflows. This contrasting movement highlights a growing investor inclination towards Ethereum over Bitcoin in the current market climate.

Bitcoin ETFs Experience Outflows

Bitcoin spot ETFs saw a net outflow of approximately $61.53 million, equivalent to around 915 BTC. This outflow reflects a bearish sentiment among investors, as Bitcoin’s price continues to hover around $62,730.

The outflows were primarily driven by sales from Fidelity and Grayscale ETFs, which collectively sold 2,017 BTC. This selling pressure suggests a cautious approach among institutional investors towards Bitcoin at the moment.

Ethereum ETFs Attract Inflows

In contrast, Ethereum spot ETFs recorded a net inflow of $27.42 million, equivalent to about 5,230 ETH. This influx underscores a growing confidence in Ethereum’s prospects, as investors appear to be positioning themselves for potential gains.

BlackRock’s substantial purchase of 30,179 ETH highlights the increasing institutional interest in Ethereum. With Ethereum trading near $1,845, the inflows suggest an optimistic outlook for the asset.

Market Sentiment and Outlook

The mixed flows in crypto ETFs indicate a market grappling with uncertainty, as reflected in the prevailing Fear sentiment. While Bitcoin faces selling pressure, Ethereum’s inflows suggest a divergence in investor sentiment between the two leading cryptocurrencies.

As Bitcoin trades near $62,730 and Ethereum around $1,845, the market remains on edge, with sentiment deeply rooted in Fear, which could amplify volatility in the near term.
