Bitcoin and Ethereum have remained in a narrow range of fluctuation recently. One positive sign is that Bitcoin surged last night and continues to do so, but Ethereum and altcoins did not follow suit. While Bitcoin appears strong during this upward movement, Ethereum and altcoins generally remain stagnant, indicating that the market has yet to move—this is a typical bull trap. On the 4-hour candlestick chart, after reaching highs near 1920 for Ethereum and 64500 for Bitcoin, the price surged and then pulled back, forming a small bearish candle, showing that downward momentum has slowed but it remains weak. The early morning surge and subsequent retreat produced a relatively large bearish candle, which nearly wiped out part of the previous day’s gains, forming a preliminary bearish engulfing or “dark cloud cover” pattern. This indicates obvious selling pressure at high levels and suggests a possible short-term pullback.
Trading suggestion: Short Bitcoin near 64400 to 64800, targeting 62000 to 63000; Short Ethereum near 1905 to 1920, targeting 1820 to 1850.
