XRP price predictions are once again under scrutiny after an analyst pushed back against viral charts suggesting a $750-$1,000 target. Crypto analyst ChartNerd clarified his XRP analysis by rejecting manipulated Fibonacci (FIB) extensions. Instead, he outlined an 8.5-year cup-and-handle and a more grounded long-term structure pointing toward $8, $13, and $27.
However, his analysis has drawn mixed reactions, with some questioning repeated TA predictions versus actual adoption and XRP’s failure to hold above $4 despite years of similar forecasts.
“There isn’t a cup & handle that suggests a $750-$1000 $XRP based on FIB targets. It’s manipulated to fit the narrative,” he said, challenging the methodology behind those forecasts rather than the pattern itself.
Instead, ChartNerd identified three long-term XRP price targets at $8, $13, and $27, based on an 8.5-year cup-and-handle pattern forming since the 2018 cycle high. The structure reflects a prolonged consolidation phase, with the recent pullback from the 2025 high shaping the “handle” portion of the pattern.
According to the analysis, these targets represent a more realistic range if XRP confirms a breakout above key resistance levels, contrasting with the extreme projections he dismissed earlier. However, the outlook remains conditional on a sustained breakout rather than the pattern alone.
While the setup outlines a structured path higher, it does not guarantee price movement. The targets depend on broader market conditions, sustained demand, and XRP’s ability to maintain momentum above key levels, rather than technical patterns in isolation.
ChartNerd’s analysis places XRP in the “handle” phase of a multi-year cup-and-handle pattern, suggesting the token may still seek a temporary low before any breakout attempt. He identifies around $0.89 as a key support level, while a move above resistance is needed to confirm the pattern.
At press time, XRP traded near $1.48, down 2.7% over 24 hours. A confirmed breakout could bring longer-term targets of $8, $13, and $27 into focus, though the setup remains dependent on broader market conditions and sustained demand.
However, the outlook has drawn mixed reactions, with some questioning whether repeated technical patterns can translate into real adoption or price follow-through. For now, XRP’s ability to stabilize and reclaim key levels remains the primary focus.
