Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, announced that it is working on an open-source technology that will enable the development of AI-powered systems to streamline the management of Bitcoin mining operations.
The company announced that it has partnered with 15 companies from the Bitcoin mining industry, including Bitmain, Bitdeer, Canaan, and F2Pool, for its software development infrastructure called the Mining Development Kit (MDK).
According to information shared by Tether, MDK aims to connect mining devices and mining pool management systems from different manufacturers through a common interface.
The aim is to manage mining facilities with different hardware and software infrastructures through a single program.
The company stated that MDK will enable developers to create mining management systems that leverage artificial intelligence technologies.
These systems are designed to continuously monitor mining equipment, identify potential technical problems, and optimize device performance. They also aim to manage mining operations more efficiently by automating various operational tasks.
The companies participating in the project plan to undertake the development and maintenance of functions that will enable existing mining equipment to operate compatibly with the MDK infrastructure.
Thus, it is envisioned that mining companies will be able to benefit from the technology without having to replace their existing equipment when transitioning to the new system.
MDK, which is being developed as open source, also aims to increase software compatibility between devices from different manufacturers.
Tether’s initiative stands out as a step towards the widespread adoption of AI-powered monitoring, problem detection, and performance management applications in Bitcoin mining.
However, the exact date when the technology will be rolled out and measurable results regarding the productivity increase it will provide have not yet been announced.
