For the week ending February 28, initial jobless claims, adjusted for seasonal variations, stood at 213,000—remaining steady compared to the revised figure from the prior week. The previous week's total was adjusted upward by 1,000, moving from 212,000 to 213,000.
The four-week average of initial claims dropped by 4,750, reaching 215,750. The prior week's average was also revised up by 250, now totaling 220,500.
As for the insured unemployment rate, it held steady at 1.2 percent for the week ending February 21, with no change from the previous week’s unrevised rate.
