Germany: Manufacturing new orders in February 2026 increased by 0.9% compared to the prior month
Manufacturing Orders Show Modest Growth in February 2026
According to preliminary data from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), seasonally and calendar-adjusted new manufacturing orders, measured in real terms, increased by 0.9% in February 2026 compared to the previous month. Excluding major bulk orders, the rise was more pronounced, with new orders climbing 3.5% over January.
Looking at the broader trend, the less fluctuating three-month comparison indicates that from December 2025 to February 2026, new orders were 2.0% higher than in the preceding three months. However, if large-scale orders are not considered, there was a 0.8% decrease over the same period. The figures have been updated following a revision of the initial estimates.
