Index of Manufacturing Output, United Kingdom: February 2026
Production Output Sees Notable Growth
Between December 2025 and February 2026, overall production output rose by an estimated 1.2% compared to the previous three-month period ending November 2025.
This growth was driven by gains in several sectors: manufacturing expanded by 1.2%, electricity and gas output climbed 3.6%, and water supply and sewerage edged up by 0.1%. However, these advances were partly counterbalanced by a 2.1% decline in mining and quarrying.
Within manufacturing, only 5 out of 13 subsectors experienced growth during this period. The most significant boost came from transport equipment, which surged by 8.9% and contributed 0.74 percentage points to the overall increase.
