South32 on Wednesday reported a more than two-fold rise in third-quarter manganese output, as its Australian operations resumed production compared with a year-earlier quarter when output was nil.
The world’s biggest manganese producer logged 1.09 million wet metric tons of the steel additive for the March quarter from its Australian and South African operations, up from 476,000 wmt a year earlier.
This result missed the Visible Alpha consensus estimate of 1.25 million wmt.
