Next Week's Macro Outlook: Fed Minutes and PCE Data Incoming, Supreme Court May Rule on Trump Tariff Case
BlockBeats News, February 15th, the global market will usher in a "data bombardment" week next week. The Federal Reserve will release the minutes of its January monetary policy meeting at 03:00 on Thursday, and the market will look for more clues regarding the rate cut path for 2026; the initial US Q4 GDP and core PCE price index to be released at 21:30 on Friday will become the focus. As the Fed's preferred inflation indicator, if the PCE reading exceeds expectations, it may affect the pace of policy easing within the year. On the central bank front, several Federal Reserve officials will speak intensively, the Reserve Bank of Australia will release its meeting minutes, and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand will announce its interest rate decision. The market generally expects the Reserve Bank of New Zealand to hold steady, while the Reserve Bank of Australia may emphasize the risk of rising inflation. In terms of asset performance, spot gold remains volatile at high levels, rebounding to close higher after a sharp pullback during the week; crude oil surged and then retreated, with market rumors that OPEC+ may resume production increases in April; the US dollar trend becomes a key variable, and if it does not hit new lows, it may remain relatively strong against the backdrop of an impending tariff ruling. Meanwhile, demand for US Treasuries is heating up, which may trigger a new round of asset reallocation. In terms of major events, the Supreme Court of the United States will issue opinions on February 20th, including a ruling on the Trump "Liberation Day" tariff policy case. If the ruling is unfavorable, it may have a significant impact on related tariff measures and affect global trade and market sentiment. At the company level, the earnings season is coming to an end. Walmart will announce its fiscal Q4 results, with the market focusing on key indicators such as e-commerce growth, AI applications, and tariff impacts. Its guidance may have an important impact on retail and overall market sentiment.

Analyst: Bitcoin basis returns to neutral range, demand for long positions in derivatives cools down
BlockBeats News, February 15, CryptoQuant analyst @AxelAdlerJr posted that the bitcoin basis (7-day simple moving average) has fallen back to a neutral range, as the premium between spot and futures has significantly narrowed. He pointed out that this change indicates a weakening demand for establishing long exposure through derivatives, and the market is no longer pricing in an aggressive "risk appetite" scenario. Typically, this means a decline in risk appetite, the start of a deleveraging process, and investors moving to a wait-and-see stance. Axel Adler Jr believes that the derivatives market is currently unable to continue driving prices higher, and for longs to regain momentum, they will need stronger support from spot buying.
