Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac drop as FHFA Director’s dual role as Acting Intelligence Director raises concernsGlonhui, June 2 – Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac common stocks fell on Tuesday after former President Trump appointed Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Bill Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence. Pulte lacks a national security background and is expected to continue serving simultaneously as FHFA Director and Chairman of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac while acting as Director of National Intelligence. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac shares both fell more than 3% on Tuesday, with year-to-date declines exceeding 30% for both companies.
