Gnosis Pay Reviews Security Incident: Vulnerability Caused by Signature Verification Logic Flaw, Now FixedForesight News reported that Gnosis Pay released a review report on the June 1 security incident, disclosing that the root cause of the vulnerability was a flaw in the ERC-1271 signature verification logic within the Zodiac module: the system only read the contract's return result without checking whether the call had actually succeeded. Attackers exploited this by deploying a contract designed to intentionally fail but still return a "valid" indicator, thereby forging authorization and withdrawing funds from accounts they did not own. This vulnerability was introduced with version 3.4.0 of the Zodiac code in October 2023 and was fixed on June 5. According to the report, the attackers stole approximately 1.5 million US dollars, affecting 5,281 wallets, including about 641,000 US dollars in GNO, about 453,000 US dollars in EURe, and about 399,000 US dollars in USDC.e; an additional 300,000 US dollars is locked in inaccessible accounts, and the team is exploring recovery options. Gnosis Pay stated that they will expand their security team, introduce external audits, broaden the scope of smart contract audits, and have completed a comprehensive product rebuild (v2) to enhance security response capabilities.

Gulf Region Oil Exports Surge in June, UAE Crude Deliveries Reach Record High On July 3, data showed that oil exports from the Gulf region in June increased by over 3 million barrels per day compared to May, surpassing 10 million barrels per day, although still 40% lower than pre-war levels. The UAE led the recovery in the oil market, allowing millions of barrels of crude oil that were stranded in the Gulf region to enter the international market, enabling producers to increase output and bring oil prices down to pre-war levels. According to Kpler, the total export volume of crude oil and condensate from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, and Iran increased by over 3.5 million barrels per day from May, reaching 10.07 million barrels per day. Another freight analysis company, Vortexa, estimated that the oil delivery volume in June was 10.2 million barrels per day, up from 7 million barrels per day in May, but still far below the 16.5 million barrels per day recorded in the same period last year. Data from Kpler, Vortexa, and LSEG indicated that UAE's crude oil exports reached a record high of 3.7 to 3.8 million barrels per day in June, more than 1 million barrels per day higher than in May.
