Two more liquefied petroleum gas tankers bound for India have left the Persian Gulf via the Strait of Hormuz.
Golden Ten Data reported on March 28 that, according to foreign media, two more liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tankers bound for India have left the Persian Gulf via the Strait of Hormuz. Ship tracking data shows that the BW Tyr and BW Elm, both flying the Indian flag, were fully loaded with LPG and their last reported positions were past the northern tip of the Oman Peninsula. Throughout the voyage, both vessels used transponders to signal that they were Indian-owned and crewed, which has become a standard safety measure. India relies heavily on LPG imports from the Persian Gulf and is currently facing a severe shortage of this fuel.
