Trezor launches modular firmware platform to support developers in building applications
Foresight News reported that Trezor Firmware Product Lead Jan Setina stated at the EthCC[9] conference that their team is transitioning the firmware architecture from a monolithic to a modular application platform. This move aims to address structural bottlenecks such as slow integration speeds and hardware storage limitations, which were previously caused by the internal team's need to review all code. Developers can now use its SDK and simulator to independently develop, publish, and maintain applications. The new modular firmware supports dynamic on-demand loading of applications, with each application running in its own sandbox, ensuring that vulnerabilities in a single application do not affect others. This enhances functional scalability flexibility while maintaining security.
