Ford's Earnings Report Sees Biggest Miss in Four Years: Tariff Costs Weigh, but Optimism for 2026 Recovery
Gelonghui, February 11|Profit Misses Expectations: Ford Motor has reported its first quarterly profit miss since 2024, marking the largest shortfall in four years. Tariff Shadow: The earnings miss was mainly due to an unexpected tariff cost of approximately $900 million in 2025, related to auto parts tax credits that failed to take effect as scheduled. Recovery Guidance: Despite underperforming last year, Ford expects 2026 to be a year of recovery, projecting adjusted EBIT to reach $8-10 billion, up from $6.8 billion last year. Heavy Losses: The sudden change in tariff provisions caused Ford to lose the $900 million in savings originally expected last year, doubling its total annual tariff costs to $2 billion.

Wells Fargo raises 2026 gold price target to $6,300
Wells Fargo stated that the recent pullback in gold prices is a healthy correction following a significant previous rally, with spot gold prices having fallen more than 10% from the record high at the end of January. This is mainly due to profit-taking after gold prices surged over 30% above the 200-day moving average. The bank has raised its 2026 gold price target to $6,100 to $6,300 per ounce, citing reasons such as geopolitical risks, market volatility, and strong central bank demand.
